Fashion Jewelry Trends For Summer 2011 You Should Be Wearing

!±8± Fashion Jewelry Trends For Summer 2011 You Should Be Wearing

Purchasing new fashion jewelry and other fashion accessories for your collection, is an inexpensive and fun way to revamp your wardrobe for Summer 2011. It is great to know that there are some fabulous, fashion-forward, jewelry trends that can take a basic maxi dress, or, tank from plain to INSANE! It is even greater to know that fashionable, budget-friendly online boutiques are more than happy to provide an interactive, personalized shopping experience from the comfort of your home.

Here are a few Summer 2011 Jewelry Trends to go shopping for today!

Ultra-Ornamented Pieces

Look for necklaces that are bib and lariat styled. If you are lucky enough to find a fashion necklace that encompasses your entire neckline, you have hit the jackpot! Pair these bold, statement pieces with strapless dresses, or, tops. If you aren't a fan of the strapless look, find clothing items with plunging necklines to show off your statement necklaces and add a camisole underneath if the neckline is too revealing. Contrary to what some experts may think, pricey does not always mean better looking; there are so many options in fashion jewelry and semi-precious accessories that are more striking in appearance than their luxury counterparts. You can also look for necklaces in the bib or, lariat style made from semi-precious and man-made stones. If you find jewelry made from coral, turquoise, agate and simulated stones, and the price is in your budget, pick them up. You may even come across pieces that look like "neck candy", made form shimmering rhinestones, crystal and acrylic in deep, saturated colors! These pieces will be fabulous fashion accessories for those simple cocktail gowns for summer weddings.

Tribal and Natural Jewelry

This trend seems to be a constant year-round. You can save money by purchasing pieces that will look great with your leather blazers in the Fall. These pieces will also be made from natural and man-made stones. Also, look for fashion jewelry pieces made from natural wood, horn, husk and any natural material. For extra pizzazz, purchase multiple bangles, and stack them on one arm, or, both.

Textured and Fabric Jewelry

This summer, look for fashion jewelry that is made from newspaper print motifs that may be in the form of enameled accessories. Keep your eyes open for thread-design necklaces and especially earrings. Another huge trend in jewelry that falls under the "textured and fabric category", are pieces made of beautiful peacock and rainbow-colored feathers; these accessories look very chic with simple tees and ponytails. You may also find bangles that are covered in chic and unique fabric. You can even add hammered metal pieces to wear with your cool, linen slacks and jackets for the office.

Vintage-Inspired

Last, but, certainly not least...look for vintage, or, if you aren't able to find authentic vintage accessories, look for pieces that are vintage-inspired. These will be your brooches, cameo motif earrings and necklaces, and jewelry that has the rose-gold, or, antique-gold look. A good rule of thumb here is, if it reminds you of your grandmother's jewelry in a fashion-forward way, it will be a fabulous piece of fashion jewelry to add to your summer 2011 collection.

There are few set rules to follow to be able to rock these jewelry trends in style; just find pieces that are inspired by the trends discussed above. Follow your own style, budget and heart and you will always find those ultra-chic, fashion jewelry pieces perfect for you.

"Discovering Central Vienna" Addicted2travel's photos about Vienna, Austria (musikverein bombed)

Preview of Addicted2travel's blog at TravelPod. Read the full blog here: www.travelpod.com This blog preview was made by TravelPod using the TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow creator. Entry from: Vienna, Austria Entry Title: "Discovering Central Vienna" Entry: "Saturday morning, May 22, began with a Viennese public transportation experience. Both subways and trams (surprisingly easy) took us to the Zentralfriedhof, the Central Cemetery. Nothing to brighten up your Saturday morning like a few thousand dead people. There is a small section of the cemetery where the great composers are. A memorial is in the center for Mozart. His body isn't there; that whole being-buried-in-a-pauper's-grave thing ruined that possibility. Surrounding Mozart's memorial are large gravestones for Beethoven, Strauss, Brahms, and Schubert. Many flowers are still brought to the graves. My mom and grandma waited on a bench while I finished scampering around the cemetery to find Czerny's grave and Salieri's grave, which were both much more plain than the others. I also found Schönberg's grave which has a large cube structure on top of it...a rather appropriate looking design for a composer like him I thought. We made a quick stop at Beethovenplatz on the way back to the center of Vienna. There is a huge Beethoven statue there that I climbed up on to get as high as I could. I looked out for police while I climbed all over the statue...just in case. The rest of the day was spent in the center of the city ...

Summer Camp Essentials - Make the Ultimate Sleep Away Camp Experience

!±8± Summer Camp Essentials - Make the Ultimate Sleep Away Camp Experience

Before packing, start making a checklist of necessary items to prepare your child while away from home. Take into consideration the length of time he or she will be away. Most overnight summer camps provide the fundamental items for your child, but it is smart to pack your own essentials. Plus, by purchasing the items yourself, you can be assured of their quality!

o Clothes: Since many overnight camps have weekly laundry service, it's not necessary to pack much more than a week's worth of clothes. Pack 7-10 days worth of socks and underwear in case there's a problem with the camp's washers. Pack several T-shirts, sweatshirts, one or two pairs of long pants, a few pairs of shorts and pajamas, one warm jacket and two pairs of comfortable shoes. Running shoes, sports sandals or hiking boots are best.

o Toiletries: Toiletries should include biodegradable soap and shampoo, toothbrush, floss and paste, a hairbrush, face cloth and two towels (in case one gets wet).

o Sunscreen: Not only are sunburns painful, but too much exposure to sunlight can increase the risk of skin cancer. A sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher can make spending summer days outside a safer proposition.

o Bug Spray: Camps can be havens for mosquitoes, bees, and other pests. Bug spray can make a big difference, but you'd be surprised how easy it is to forget it.

o Sleeping Bag: A sleeping bag is a camp necessity even when the kids are tucked away inside a nice cabin. On cool nights, a comfy indoor sleeping bag offers extra warmth. While on warmer nights, a sleeping bag that opens up flat, can top a bed like a comforter cover to give extra soft support like bed sheeting.

o Bathing Suit and Flip Flops: Here are another few items that can be left out in the shuffle of packing. Swimming and water activities are a big part of many summer camp experiences, but most camps don't allow skinny dipping. So pack a bathing suit and flip-flops, to protect their feet in and around the waterhole.

o A government-approved life jacket: A must for all water sports.

o Disposable Camera: Send your child away with an inexpensive camera so he/she can capture camp memories to last a lifetime!

o Flashlight: While many camps provide flashlights for nighttime activities, it's a good idea for your child to take along his own flashlight, along with fresh batteries. You never know when one might come in handy. Plus, children always love having their own!

o Sun Hat/Sun Glasses: During sports and other outdoor activities, wearing a hat and/or sun glasses is a great way to keep the glare out of a child's eyes.

o Raincoat/Poncho: The ideal camp session would feature only sunny days, but Mother Nature has a funny sense of humor sometimes. Wet weather gear is a must.

o If your child tends to have separation anxiety, do not forget to pack their favorite blanket or stuffed animal for added comfort.

o For camps that hold banquets at the end of each session, your child should bring one dressier outfit - a skirt or dress for girls and nice pants and a golf shirt for boys.

o Personal Notebook/Journal: Encourage your child to keep a journal of her camp experiences. He/she may not realize it now, but later in life those memories will be meaningful.

One important thing to remember is that different camps have different checklists; so, remember to check their requirements before going on your shopping journey! Having the best essentials make the happiest campers.

Personalised Clothing As a Gift

!±8± Personalised Clothing As a Gift

What person wouldn't like personalised gifts? I can't think of anyone right off the top of my head. I know I always appreciate a personalised gift or a homemade gift much more than just a store-bought gift.

Personalised Clothing is an especially good idea for babies, children, female teenagers, and business owners, for the most part. However, men like those baseball hats with names and letters on them, as well as t-shirts.

Business owners like personalised t-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and jackets. Those clothing items are all excellent for advertising. Really anything with the business owner's name embossed on it is usually a nice gift idea.

What comes to mind when purchasing Personalised Clothing items? Well there are many things to think about and consider. Favourite colours, style and so forth. You have to consider the person's size as well of course. You certainly don't want to go wrong with sizes.

Mothers have a lot of fun with their baby's clothing, and personalising is often part of it when purchasing baby items. Baby quilts are hot items when thinking of personalising. You can embroider either one letter or the baby's name on quilt blocks. Grandmothers have a lot of fun making baby items with personalising. I have a few quilts that our grandmother made for us. Although quilts are not clothing items, but they have meant the world to me.

Those adorable items would be a fun item to make with a baby's name on them. Or maybe just a baby t-shirt. Baby bibs and booties would be great fun to make as well.

Teenagers love personalised t-shirts, especially female teenagers. Belts, scarfs, and purses would be ideal gifts as well. Also I've seen jackets, sweatshirts, and hoodies worn by teenagers and adults too.

There are many companies online and off who do monogramming / personalising. If you are looking to purchase someone a personalised gift item, check around and compare pricing for the best deals, as there are many to choose from.

You can also start a business doing personalising for clothing items yourself. There would be a big demand for items such as these. These types of special gifts would be great to give to someone that is very hard to buy for. So a monogramming or personalising business would be something to consider if you are looking to make an income with your own business. There would always be an interest.

Boozey Boo on YO!TV

Sweatshirt designer Ali Madigan is already dressing music superstars like MIA in her one-of-a-kind Boozey hoodies, named after a childhood nickname. Her 0 pieces can also be seen on Bay Area rappers like Stunna of The Pack. Madigan, who launched her line at the tender age of 17, says this is only the beginning. "When I first started, there was a lot that I couldn't do by myself, like sign contracts," Madigan says, from her Berkeley studio. "But I worked around it until I turned 18." Her clothes are reminiscent of an early 90s hip hop style meets retro funk. "I would describe my clothes as colorful, funky, intricate pieces," Madigan says. The sweatshirts have a unique look because they are made of carefully selected fabrics that she "could only find a yard or things that I searched near and far for." Madigan says she first started sewing when she was about six years old and lived with her grandmother. "She started me off by making dolls clothes and dolls, and that's where I got my basic sewing skills that I still use today," Madigan says, recalling how she had a real liking towards matching fabric pieces even then. After that, Madigan began using the sewing machine to alter her clothing from first grade. "I would add patches or turn shirts into dresses," she says. "But I saw it as just a hobby. I was more into painting and sculpting." It wasn't until Madigan made herself a jacket when she was 15 years old that she got really inspired. "I made my first jacket from ...

That's right, now you actually have the time to go out and take lots and lots of pictures. Go crazy you can take a million photos if you want. There's no limit to number of photos that you can upload on some of the professional photo sharing websites. Hey your goal oriented right? How long would it take you to shoot a million photos? Let's see, this should be easier than figuring out the Tootsie Pop thing. If you shoot everyday for 10 years you'd have to shoot 274 pictures per day, because I don't think you can take 2739 photos every day for a year!

Here are some suggestions on what to shoot:

1. TAKING PICTURES ON VACATION a) Museums and Historical Landmarks b) National Parks and Monuments c) City Skylines and Architecture d) Amusement Parks e) Back Roads and Byways f) Scenic Overlooks

2. SCHOOL SPORTING EVENTS- Especially regional and state tournaments or championships. They are a goldmine, parents love pictures of their superstars. If you take a photo of each kid and then a team group picture, many of the parents will buy a few. One for the house, one for grandma etc. When you add up all the kids from all the teams, you're looking at hundred's kids. The money starts adding up real quick. a) Football Team Photo b) Cheerleader Squad photo c) Homecoming Activities d) Regional & State Championships e) Soccer, Wrestling, Swimming etc... f) School Plays, Concerts and more g) Little League Baseball h) Soccer Teams i) Basketball Teams

3. LOCAL EVENTS- Check the local paper and see what's happening in your area a) Hot Air Balloon Races and Air Shows b) Car Shows & Motorcycle Rallies c) Parades & Fireworks d) County And State Fairs e) Craft Shows f) Trade shows g) Concerts h) Tail Gate Parties

4. BOY SCOUTS AND GIRL SCOUTS- Many kids don't play soccer or basketball, they enjoy scouting, and they buy lots of pictures of the kids during scouting activities. Just go around the event and shoot it up, try to get a nice posed photo of each scout, then a troop shot with the leaders. Make sure you get permission from the appropriate council. a) Camp outs b) Hikes c) The Annual Jamboree d) Pinewood Derby e) Fund Raisers

5.PROPERTY- Real estate agents need quality photographs to promote their listed properties. Let your local agencies know your available on call and watch the cash start flowing in. Architects need photos of the properties they design for many reasons. Show me the money! a) Real Estate Agencies b) Commercial Properties c) Architectural Photography d) Builders and Contractors

6. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES- This is my favorite, I live up in the mountains and we have a lot of these type of adventures available close by. Folks on vacation sure like photos of themselves while participating in activities. If you have activities like these in your area, talk with a local outfitter, they are usually very receptive to the idea of photo souvenirs, because it promotes their service long after the adventure is over. a) Whitewater River Rafting b) Horseback Riding Outfitters c) Ski Resorts d) Snowmobile Trails e) Golf Tournaments

7. INSURANCE COMPANIES- Most insurance companies require documentation to reimburse policy holders for a loss. A photographic inventory of all items covered by the policy is recommended by insurance adjusters, this is a huge market. a) Residential b) Commercial

8. FAMILY PORTRAITS- Many families have a portrait done annually. I like to photograph the family during fun time, rather than a studio. I like to have a good time with them. I always get better smiles and more interesting images on location. This year suggest doing the photo at an activity that the whole family enjoys participating in together "A family that plays together, stays together" a) At home b) In the studio c) On location d) Holiday Cards in October

9. SCHOOL ACTIVITIES- If I told you how much money you could make in one day photographing graduates, clubs, dances or homecoming activities, you wouldn't believe me. So I am going to let you find out for yourself. Then you email me and tell me and I will believe it! Photographing some of the school events like graduation and plays should be done at a dress rehearsal prior to the actual event. Always make prior arrangements with the school before you shoot. a) Graduation b) School Plays c) Dances d) Marching Band e) Homecoming

10. STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY AGENCIES- There are many agencies that will purchase quality images to package and resell. Check stock photo agencies many of them accept freelance work.

Here's the flow. Take the photo, give the client a card with your photo gallery web site address on it. Upload the pictures to your gallery. Customers go to your website and pick out the ones they want and order prints or coffee mugs, whatever they want. Then the photos are printed and shipped by the company that hosts your gallery. Then the company sends you a check. How much you make on each image is up to you. The Photo gallery hosting company charges you say, .99 for an 8"x 10" print. You set your retail prices at 24.99 for the print. You just made .00. The magic happens when you use the intrinsic artistic value, to increase the value of an otherwise inexpensive piece of paper. Most retailers wish they had a markup this good!

Once you get going, you will be lining up jobs at all sorts of events. Even taking photos while traveling and writing off your business expenses. If you really love photography you should consider your own gallery online.

When I got my gallery, I had so much fun thinking of creative titles for the galleries and getting all my pictures set up and organized. For instance, I have one gallery that is a tribute to trees. Every time I see a beautiful tree, I capture a picture and display it in a gallery that I named Treebute.

House of Dereon

!±8± House of Dereon

The House of Dereon is a fashion line introduced by singer Beyonce Knowles and her mother Tina Knowles. Generations of women in the family influenced the different styles for the Dereon clothing line. The name was given to the company because Dereon was Beyonce's grandmother's name.

The Dereon fashion line is targeted to the younger, junior crowd. Because it is targeting the junior consumers the prices are affordable so all kids can afford to wear the products. The motto for the Dereon business is "Where the sidewalk and the catwalk meet." The clothing line includes items that are casual like sweat outfits, hooded sweatshirts with embroidery, and casual wear. Beyonce uses members from her band to model her clothing in the print ad campaign for the Dereon clothes.

The House of Dereon became a business while Beyonce was performing in the group Destiny's Child. Dereon became about because Beyonce's mother would design and handcraft all of the outfits for the group Destiny's Child. This was because the group didn't have the budget to buy expensive clothes so her mother would make them for all the girls. However, Tina Knowles did such an amazing job with the designer outfits that people loved the group not only for their music but their hip style. The style designed by Tina Knowles set Destiny's Child apart from other groups.

The House of Dereon has been acknowledged as some of the greatest and stylistic fashions by Oprah and Tyra Banks. The fashion of Dereon mixes hip-hip styles of denim with an ultra feminine touch including ruffles and embroidery.

The symbol representing the House of Dereon fashions is a three-branched symbol that represents an iris flower. The flower is linked to the French monarchy which represents the history of Louisiana. This is because the Knowles family is from Louisiana and their entire heritage is from that state.

The House of Dereon is responsible for the fabulous Dereon clothing line introduced by Beyonce and her mother Tina Knowles. They have done an amazing job creating something for juniors that is totally unique and hip. Beyonce plays an active role in the designing of the articles for the clothing line and she is responsible for approving and discussing new designs.
